When you know who you are you are able to make decisions to improve yourself. When in college or the work environment  having a positive attitude will come in hand. There are multiple meanings of having a having positive attitude. Having a positive attitude can mean being happy for others and seeing the positive side of situations instead of focusing on the negative etc. Positivity will attract others which will allow you to build positive relationships with people. Not having a positive attitude you become isolated from others because others will only associate you with negativity.

Being happy for others is a result of having a positive attitude, having a positive attitude allows you to have a positive outlook on life. Genuinely being happy for someone’s accomplishments will show that you care about more than just yourself. This a very important trait to have while in college and in the workforce because others will want to share good news with you.
Seeing the positive in situations instead of the negative with all of the challenges in life this is not a skill that you will need just in college or the workforce but in life. It might sound easy to try to only see the positive in a situation but you also need to understand the negatives how to turn them into positives. This plays a huge part in you building relationships.

In these relationships that you build you will find that people want to come to you to ask for opinion/advice instead of assuming that you will say something negative. This is when you begin to realize that you are now approachable meaning people will not be afraid to come up to you because you look mean and intimidating. Trust I have a lot of experience with what I am telling you.

In the ninth grade was one of the worst experiences that I could ever go through only because I didn’t see the point in having a positive attitude. My entire ninth grade year was spent being mad at others for personal reasons. I was lonely and none of the kids in my grade wanted to be around me because they came to the conclusion that I was mean. It wasn’t until I realized I  didn’t have any friends and people had the wrong perception of who I was. After ninth grade I took my time to acknowledge what I could fix so I could have a better attitude when I came back in tenth grade it was a whole new experience. Gaining friends and taking full advantage of my high school experience I can now say that high school is so much more enjoyable. I focus less on the negative things that go on around me and more on the positive so I can get the full message out of anything that I may take part in.

Learning from my mistakes these adjustments have allowed me to become a whole new person. The tips that I gave you really do work I have way more friends because I laugh more, smile more, and overall I’m just a nicer person. From going to intimidating to people always coming up to me to ask me questions makes me remember these steps because they have had a positive impact in my high school experience. Seeing how these tips revamped my high school career I plan to keep working on these strategies and implement them into all of journeys beyond high school.
